General Are you a school? Yes, we are a school approved by the Georgia Real Estate Appraiser Board.

Can I pay via a company credit card? You can pay online through PayPal, you can submit your application through the postal mail with certified funds (cashier’s check or money order) or you can request a credit card authorization form and your payment will be processed within our office.
Step by Step Guide to Real Estate Appraising While going through (the Step by Step Guide to Real Estate Appraising) course, are these appraisals being done for free? You will not be paid for the appraisals that you complete during the Step by Step Guide to Real Estate Appraising course. The goal of this course is to provide experience in the field appraising real property and learning how to complete a report - from inception to submission. Many licensed and certified appraisers are hesitant to work with newly registered appraisers because they do not think that they are very knowledgeable about the business and they have no experience actually appraising property. This course will give you at least two appraisals to use as your 'resume' for potential clients and mentors.
After completing the (Step by Step Guide to Real Estate Appraising) course, does Lexington Appraisals typically guarantee a spot in their Mentorship program? There are no guarantees but we work closely with Lexington Appraisals and make sure that we maintain small class sizes so that appraisers get the attention that they need. So far, everyone that has wanted to participate in the Mentorship Program has been able to register.
Some of my biggest concerns are based on how much money I would be expected to make within the first few months of jumping into the business, which for me is my biggest factor in knowing if I can actually get into this business and financially stay afloat. I cannot attest to how much money you can expect to make when you are just starting out because it depends upon a number of factors. If you have contacts within the real estate industry that can provide you with referrals, you may be able to get off to a fast start. You also have the option of working as an independent contractor for an established firm.
Step by Step Guide to FHA Appraisals I thought the FHA did away with the test. That all you have to do is fill out their form, with some questions. There are just 10 questions on the HUD application, but this class will teach you how to answer them, how to do an FHA inspection and what to look for. The questions on the application are pretty easy if you know construction & appraising but once you’re doing the appraisal those 10 questions turn into 100 if you don’t know what you're doing. I always advise appraisers to get training before getting involved.
I’m already on the FHA Appraisal Roster but have never done a FHA appraisal. Will this class provide instructions on how to complete the FHA appraisal and any necessary verbiage, if any? Yes, this course will go through the HUD handbook and answer any questions that you have about FHA appraisals and how they differ from standard appraisals (what HUD wants you to look for, etc).
